Kasteel Doenrade seen from the air, surrounded by woods and fields

Private investment house · Den Bosch, the Netherlands

We invest where we operate.

Valette Capital backs start- and scale-ups at the crossing of hospitality and technology. Patient capital, honest counsel, and the judgment of people who run hotels themselves.

The thesis

Our thesis is the guest journey.

Every company in the house serves a moment a guest actually lives through: the rate, the call, the table, the stay, the room, the kitchen, the return, the gift, and the morning after, when the whole house reads its numbers. Invest along that line and the portfolio compounds itself: each company makes the others more valuable.

The register

Nine companies kept close, two brought home.

Some we invested in. Some we founded at our own front desk, because the tool we needed didn't exist yet. Every name opens the company's own site.

Realised
  • 10City2CExit · 3 yrsDigital, staffless boutique hotels in Valkenburg. Hospitality without a front desk. Realised after a three-year hold.
  • 11Valette DigitalExit · 4 yrsBitcoin mining hardware and hosting. The house's position in digital infrastructure. Realised after a four-year hold.

Register as kept, Den Bosch · Operating companies held through Valette Ventures B.V.

The counsel

Counsel, before capital.

Not every good plan needs our money first. Entrepreneurs starting out, or ready to grow, can engage the house for advice built on years of running hotels and building companies.

Starting

For those opening their doors.

Concept and business plan, the numbers that have to be true, the first technology stack, and the operation behind opening day.

Scaling

For those outgrowing them.

Growth strategy, organisation and systems: the step from one location to several without losing the service that made the first one work.

Network

With the house's partners.

Where the job asks for more hands, in finance, legal, marketing or build, we bring trusted partners from the house's network to the table.

"Sometimes counsel ends in an investment. More often it ends in a better company. The trade wins either way."

The house way

How we work.

Own capital

Own capital, own signature.

We invest our own money and sign our own decisions. No fund clock, no committee. We can move in days and stay for years.

Operators first

Night audits, not just data rooms.

Founders get a first customer's honesty before they get a term sheet, and doors into the industry after.

Few, and close

A handful at a time.

Served the way a good house serves its guests: attentively, personally, and without fuss.

The house
"A guest remembers how a place made them feel. So does a founder."

Valette Capital is the private investment house of Dennie Frits, hotelier and entrepreneur in the Dutch hospitality trade. The house builds and backs the technology its own industry runs on: the price of the night, the phone, the table, guest messaging, housekeeping, the kitchen, feedback, the gift voucher, and the morning board that shows the whole house at once.

Some companies we invested in; some we founded at our own front desk, because the tool we needed didn't exist yet. That is the difference we offer a founder: capital that has stood where your customer stands.

Pitch the house

Building for hospitality? We'd like to read it.

Raising, starting out, or ready to scale: the pitch form takes about fifteen minutes and asks for everything we need to read you properly, deck included. Prefer e-mail? That works too.

Pitch the house

Every pitch is read personally by the founder. If it fits, you'll hear from us within five working days. If you don't, please take it as a quiet no. We're a small house: we'd rather read than write.
